Affordable Care Act (ACA) is an extensive healthcare reform sometimes referred to as Obamacare. As per ACA, individual medical insurance plans must cover ten Essential Health Benefits in order to be recognized as a Qualified Health Plan (QHP)and provide “minimum essential coverage (MEC)” to enrollees. Short Term Medical (STM)
Comprehensive medical coverage is not provided by STM Insurance plans. STM doesn’t fall under the minimum essential coverage as defined by the ACA and may not cover all Essential Health Benefits.
